Interessi di ricerca

Non-market valuation of agricultural externalities, consumers' preferences for sustainable products, climate change,

Attività di ricerca

Earlier focus of her research activity was on quality issues in the agri-business sector and its implication for international trade. Her interest encompasses the interrelation between agriculture and the environment, focusing on a range of issues related to the multifunctional role of agriculture and forestry in the Alpine context.

In 2008, as principal investigator representing the Department of Economics, she was awarded together with other four research institutions (Fondazione Edmund Mach and Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Trento), ETHZ Swiss federal Institute of Technology (Zurich) and Volcani Center (Israel) one of the “Grandi Progetti 2006” of the Autonomous Province of Trento. She led the research group of the Department of Economics working at the Envirochange project aiming at investigating the possible economic impacts of climate change on Trentino agriculture and the role of risk perception in farmers’ and consumers’ decision making.

Her most recent research is devoted to the application of stated preference techniques (choice experiments) for valuing tourists’ preferences for positive externalities of agriculture and consumers’ preference for sustainable products, with particular emphasis on testing different mechanisms to reduce hypothetical and social desirability bias.
